Toyota-Canada Rewards
Drive And Initiative

Like many companies today, Toyota-Canada strives to promote community participation in environmental activities and educating young people in regard to the importance of protecting natural habitats.

Reap the rewards from this generous company to schools with their Toyota-Evergreen program.

The Toyota Evergreen Learning Ground Program is available to Canadian Schools. Toyota and its' dealerships have graciously supported further expansion of the Evergreen Program which has many years of experience in changing the look of Canadian school yards.

These landscape changes can take many forms in such ways
as planting trees, starting vegetable gardens, building
ponds and even the creation of murals.

This transforms the traditional asphalt-school-yard into
something beautiful, and the making of it is such a learning
experience at the same time.

The Company has also provided supports which have enabled
grants and awards to be handed out annually. Workshops
are held in different regions of the country offering
tools for resources. An interactive website can be accessed.

Toyota-Canada has also teamed with Earth-Day-Canada to create a Toyota-scholarship-program to reward Canadian secondary-school graduates which recognizes their good works for the environment, volunteer service and proven academic standing.

For students entering their first year of a Post-Secondary
education of their choice, the Earth Day Scholarship
program grants $5,000.00 each to fifteen deserving students
to aid in paying for tuition, books and other necessary
expenses for the initial first year.

The awards scholarships are handed out in 5 geographical
areas of Canada, and determined by a panel of leaders
representing the community, business, and the environment.

There is criteria to meet as mentioned above, which is
determined by the efforts of the students.

There is an extra bonus for one lucky student. From the
fifteen winners of these awards, one national winner is
chosen overall, and this student also receives a notebook
computer. As a parent who knows about school costs these
days, that is one very nice less expense for a student
to have to worry about.

This is all so very generous of Toyota, as they do
realize the need and especially the importance in nurturing
and rewarding the environmental leaders of tomorrow.
